Use the form below to submit your Charitable Trust application online. To reduce the likelihood of issues, it’s recommended that you gather your answers together in advance (e.g. in a Microsoft Word or Google document), then paste them into the relevant boxes when you are ready to submit. Please note that the maximum award is now £15,000.
Charitable Trust application terms and conditions
To be eligible to apply for a donation, your charity or organisation must comply with the following criteria:
- Donations must principally benefit people who live or operate in the Borough of Charnwood
- The minimum amount that can be applied for is £1,000 and the maximum amount is £15,000
- Applicants do not have to have registered charitable status but donations must meet the Charity Commission Criteria
- The funds applied for must only be used for the project you have detailed in your application
- Applications must include the full project costs, how the total will be spent and show clearly the proposed use of funds requested from the Committee
In particular, the Trust will seek to award donations to charities and organisations that support and help:
- Children and young people
- People with disabilities
- Neglected or abandoned animals
- Lifelong learning
- Community and social development
- Sports and leisure
- Alleviation of hardship
We are especially interested in projects with the capacity to deliver significant impact and which reach the greatest number of people.
The Trust will not support applications that are made by, or include, the following:
- Organisations seeking funds to redistribute to other charities
- Political or religious organisations and campaigns
- Purchase of tables at charity fundraisers or boxes for sporting events and other similar corporate hospitality
- Sponsorship of individuals or groups participating in sponsored events
- Provision of prizes for raffles or draws
- Ongoing running costs for example staff salaries, utility bills, rent and vehicle leases
- Requests from charities that have been awarded funds by the Committee in the last 12 months
